Hikes in Les Menuires

Our hikes in Les Menuires and St Martin de Belleville this summer

In the heart of the Alps in Savoie, discover this summer our numerous marked routes (more than 50) in the Vallée des Belleville. With friends or family, there will be hikes for everyone!

OUR ADVICE

  • Choose your itinerary before you leave and get information. This will allow you to prepare your hike as well as possible and choose the one that really suits you (no need to climb the highest peaks if you are afraid of heights).
  • Make sure you have the right clothes. In order to be able to climb, we recommend that you carefully choose your clothing and especially your shoes. Indeed, it is important to have good shoes (preferably high shoes with soles that grip) and comfortable clothes. Always take a small jumper even if it is sunny and warm (the weather can be very changeable in the mountains, and the wind can be very strong on the summits).

Get your hiking bag: let yourself be carried away! Listen to the whistling of the marmots, discover the high altitude lakes and our most beautiful summits... Looking to spend your summer in Les Menuires? Check out our accommodation offers here!

VERY EASY HIKES

VERY EASY HIKES

CIRCUIT DES DEMOISELLES COIFFÉES :
Allow about 3 hours of walking (3800m) from the hamlet of Villarenger.

Relatively flat circuit, from the Neolithic protective stone "Pierre Chevetta", cross the "Pont Romain" and let yourself be guided on the forest path which will lead you to the Demoiselles Coiffées.

CIRCUIT DU DORON :
We suggest you discover the hamlets and villages of the valley by following the bed of the Doron des Belleville. Modular to your liking, a total of 11km is available and you can easily split it up (different departures are possible from the hamlets of the resort). Note that this walk is particularly appreciated for its shady aspect in summer.

WALK ON THE HEATHER WATER LEVEL:
A must in Les Menuires, the Bruyères lake is a small haven of peace. You can take advantage of this pedestrian walk for a picnic, a fishing trip or a relaxing break (barbecues as well as some benches and tables are available).

LAC DU LOU :
Accessible for the whole family, discover a preserved valley and the most beautiful and largest lake in the Belleville Valley "Le Lac du Lou". You can get there either by the Plan d'Eau des Bruyères or by the mountain restaurant "Chez Pépé Nicolas". It takes about 2 hours to get there and back.

BELLEVILLE BALCONY TRAIL :
Starting from the Brelin district, dominate the Belleville Valley and its villages throughout this hike. Difficult to do as a round trip, you can split the route between the resort and its hamlets. Come across numerous mountain pasture chalets that are more or less well maintained and bear witness to life in the past.

SHEPHERD'S PATH :
Easy walk of about 3km (1h) located between Les Menuires and Val Thorens, breathtaking views over the Belleville Valley await you.

CIRCUIT DE PLANTEBON :
Head for the valley of Les Encombres, starting from the car park at Les Frachettes. This itinerary will take you through the valley of the torrent des Encombres and the mountain pasture hamlets of Planlebon, Les Priots and Gittamelon. Discover the agropastoral image of the valley through forests, clearings and streams. Some passages are still relatively difficult (steep switchbacks in the first part and a footbridge crossing the Palebon gorge). Allow about 3 hours.

PAS DE CHERFERIE :
A walk of about 5 hours on the heights of the village of St Marcel. This walk will take you through old hamlets such as La Loy. At the top: enjoy a beautiful view of the Belleville Valley and Méribel from the Pas de Cherferie.

ROC DE LA LUNE :
Between St Martin de Belleville and Les Allues, the Roc de la Lune circuit offers a beautiful loop and a breathtaking view of the Mont Blanc. Count on 4 hours of hiking between mountain pastures, pretty coniferous forest and ridges.

LE COCHET :
Starting from the village of Chatelard, this walk of about 4h30 will offer you a splendid view of St Martin de Belleville and its hamlets. Starting with a wooded passage, the path then crosses a scree with a fairly steep climb. Note: for climbers or trainee climbers a via ferrata is also possible on the Cochet.

LES MONTS DU FÛTS :
On the heights of St Jean de Belleville, destination more precisely from the pretty hamlet of La Sauce, discover an authentic alpine pasture valley still in activity.

Allow 5h30. In order to make the most of it, we recommend that you hire a mountain guide.
